Project 1 : Journey For the 5 Senses 

Project 1A : Precedent Studies : Analyzing spatial poetics and spatial typologies in Architecture

Project 1A is about to identify and analyze spatial order and spatial poetics through precedent studies. In a group of 5 person we need to select 2 precedent study. First is One Pre-modern Movement and One Contemporary.

This project require us to choose one must be linear and the other one must be concentric. at the same time we choose Jewish museum as linear building and Colosseum as concentric. the focus of our study is based on the 5 senses expressed in the building. it's about how the spaces are organized and ordered and the spatial typologies applied in the design

Project 1B :  The Journey For the 5 Senses 

In this project, we were given some poem for use to choose and we are required to applied the poem and use the design strategies based on project 1A to design 2 building which are linear and concentric and build both physical model. Besides that we also require to produce 6 A3 panels of presentation board content orthographic drawing and photo montage of the linear and concentric building.

This project let me improve my perspective view on identifying and analyze spatial order and this project also improve my understanding of how to translate, how to applied poetic feeling with 5 senses in a design with architecture way.




Project 2 :  Genius Loci ( Site Analysis and Concept Development ) 

Group work : Site condition and Analysis 
In this project , we were given a site which is Labrador park Nature Reserve which is located in Singapore and also we were required to produce a micro site analysis of the Labrador Park. The site analysis force us to produce site context, contour, sun path, climate, vegetation, view, SWOT and etc.

Individual Work : Personal Interpretation and Concept Development as a Response

In this part, we are required to produce 2 A3 sketches on site which is inspirational and then we apply it as our concept. Besides that, we also need to tell and propose our concept through that inspirational and sketches that we have done. In this project, I sketched out a story line as a tourist or visitor .The story line is about the circulation that bring the visitor to different space and have the different feeling which the park give a significant contrast feeling between the outside and inside the preservation area. outside part of this labrador park just give you a felling just like a normal park where all the family use their weekend time with their family and barbeque or just a sea shore and inside part give you that this labrador park is a historical park. so between the two feeling it's very contrast between the inside and outside of this park. The sketches and inspiration lead me to a concept that called "Contradiction".

Through out this project I've learned how interpret and analyze the site context, and a produce a complete and good site analysis.




Project 3 : Genius Loci ( Visitor Interpretive Center ) 

Project 3 is to propose design  which is functional and design based on users experience. The Visitor center must design with within 450 sqm including exterior and interior spaces. This Visitor interpretive center function as a place to remind and keep alive the history and memory of that site.

The visitor interpretive center designed with the concept that I've applied on my conceptual design which is Contradiction.

 Through this project  , I've learned a lot of thing which are how to generate design based on unique character and conditions of the site context and the importance of concept and the feeling i want to let the visitor or users feel in the space that I've design.
 

Then overall my conclusion for this studio 3 is learn more about poetic feeling and translating them into architecture way. I felt that this studio 3 is the interesting and also complex because different people will have different feeling when you want them to feel that way. so it's really make me learn a lot in this studio.
