Building Construction 2 

Project 1 : Understanding Forces in Skeletal Structure

In this project, we were required to design a tower which only can use popsicle stick to build it. Glue and anyadhesive material is not allowed to use here. the minimum height of the building is 30 cm and not more than 100 popsicle stick. the model is made to handle and withstand load as much as possible.

In this project, I've learned about how to design a tower with skeletal structure. the bracing, prestress and the foundation is the main thing or the most important thing in this case. The workmanship also can effect the building stability and quality. The tower must be build very carefully like the straighten of the building because it's can give impact to the tower stability.
this project is fun because this project let us think the way how the 30 cm tower can hold as much as load that we will give. This popsicle actually shocked us because after we count or calculate the efficiency, we have the best efficiency if compare to other with weight exactly 100gr and can withstand 108kg.


Project 2 : Understanding Forces in Solid Structure and Surface structure

Project 2, we were required to propose either solid or surface construction building. At last the lecture is the one who choose for us either we do solid or surface construction building and luckily we got surface building construction. after choose what kind of building construction we are allowed to choose what building are we interest in to produce the physical model and the construction part. we also have to produce A4 size booklet to introduce and analyze the building.

 In this project I've learned the way how to identify the basic structural systems and improve the ability to differentiate solid and surface structure correctly. in this project also let me learned the strength and stability of structures. this project let us keep trying and trying to get the best way or the best solution to build the model then relate to the how the real building built and the construction  method.


Overall, In my conclusion, building construction 2 course  have given me a lot of experience on structural system in construction and also how the building built with many varies of construction method and the load distribution also the important thing that I've learned through this course.
